Red Pens 101 is here!
The day has arrived!
As of right now, Red Pens 101 is up in my Ko-fi shop as an ebook and available for purchase (links and things are at the bottom of the post). Are you excited about it? I am VERY excited about it!
Existing members will have heard this bit already, but for those of you who haven't: Red Pens 101 is a brief introductory guide to the foundational elements of written communication: parts of speech, sentence structure, and punctuation. It's designed primarily for people who are new to writing, such as students and professionals who have to write a lot but may not have had any formal education. I know a lot of you are experienced writers, so this may not be the most helpful tool for you, but I bet you know someone who could get some use out of it, eh?
Here's a wee list of what to expect:
- Concepts of grammar and punctuation explained in my signature engaging style

- Heaps of examples

- A lot of cat references
- Key point summaries at the end of each section

- One rickroll
If this sounds like something that would be useful for you or someone you know, you can purchase a copy of Red Pens 101 from the Ko-fi shop. To celebrate its release, you can even get 25% off by using the code RPP25 at the checkout!
If funds are tight (and I know they are for a lot of people), there's another way you can possibly get a copy: for the whole month of April, all new members who sign up for Red Pens and Playwriting will go into a draw to win a free copy of Red Pens 101. You'll also get some awesome posts emailed directly to you fortnightly, so even if you don't get a free ebook out of it you're still winning!
Happy writing, all, and do check out the guide!
